"Hot Summer Days,” like Western counterparts such as "Love, Actually” or "Valentine’s Day,” stars a bevy of Asian film stars (including a cameo by Maggie Cheung, the Julia Roberts of the East) in a romantic comedy that plays the double celebration of the Lunar New Year and Valentine’s Day. The film is also the first Chinese-language movie for the China market produced by Twentieth Century Fox, which like the Wall Street Journal, is owned by News Corp.
